I was born the youngest of seven children here in sunny Florida. I was raised in the Bradenton/Sarasota area (graduated from Sarasota High School. I have been active in church my whole life. I started playing the drums in church at the age of 7 and then started playing the guitar when I was about 10 years old. I have been singing and harmonizing for as long as I can remember. I started playing the organ (Hammond B3) at our church when I was about 16 because we didn’t have an organ player. I prayed and asked God to teach me how to play and He did it for me. I got married at 18 to “Diva Dee”, (turned down a couple of scholarships) cause I’d met my soul mate. After being married for a couple of years I realized that I needed to go to school in order to provide a decent life for my wife and I. So I joined the Air Force for what I thought would be six years and I ended up serving for 21 years. We had our first child “Jessica” at the end of my first assignment in 1988, which was Clark AB in the Philippines.
While I was stationed there, I became the director of the 75 member mass choir “Voice of Clark” and we had an amazing time. I have served as a choir director, worship leader and minister of music for many years. I also put a vocal group together for the purpose of competing in the Air Force talent show. We made it to what the Air Force calls “World Wide” and we competed against the best the Air Force had from all of the AF bases around the world.. I’m pleased to say that not only did we compete but we also won first place and Best of Show. We were voted the best in the Air Force! WOW! I’ve also directed and worked with choirs in Germany and Switzerland while serving as Minister of Music at Agape Christian Faith Center under Bishop John Neal. We also have another beautiful daughter “Ashlee” who was born in San Antonio Texas in 1992.
We came to SW Florida after retiring from the Air Force in December of 2006. God has opened many doors since we arrive here and we are so grateful. Hosting the Gospel Jams Show is really something that I enjoy more than I ever could have imagined. I never thought that I would have the honor of hosting any radio show let alone my own show. Now God has opened a door on television Hosting Times of Refreshing and I cant wait to see where He is gonna take this show. I thank Jesus daily for giving me this opportunity and I also want to thank you for making our show what it is today.
